One For My Baby from Young at Heart (1954)

The song by Harold Arlen and Johnny Mercer was originally delivered by Fred Astaire in 1943’s The Sky’s the Limit. It gets the definitive rendition in this sublime performance by Frank Sinatra in Young at Heart, directed by Gordon Douglas. Do you remember what Sinatra says when he sees Doris Day? You walk in here looking like a convention of angels. Oh golly. They wrote dialogue then. And boy did they sing songs.
