Groundbreaking Spanish costume and fashion designer Paco Rabanne has died at the age of eighty-eight. Famed for his Space Age use of unconventional materials like metals and plastic and utilising his training in architecture and industry, he became world famous just a year after his debut collection for his work on the movie Barbarella and later for his perfumes. If we’re not fortunate enough to have worn his dresses, we certainly know his fragrances. An eccentric, a visionary, a genius, may he rest in peace.
